Project Overview
Hangar One Avionics, Inc. proudly delivered the fourth Airbus AS350B3 helicopter to the San Diego Police Department, finalizing the department’s transition to a fully modernized fleet. Outfitted with advanced avionics and essential mission systems, this aircraft strengthens the city’s aerial law enforcement capabilities—supporting search operations, public safety missions, and real-time tactical coordination across San Diego. These aerial assets, equipped with the latest avionics and essential life-saving mission equipment, allow our city’s police department to find missing children quickly, keep the crime levels low and ultimately serve the great City of San Diego, CA, our hometown.
The configuration includes a Garmin G500H TXi glass cockpit, HeliSAS autopilot, radar altimeter, and ADS-B capabilities. Integrated communications feature a full digital audio system, dual Garmin radios, multiband transceivers, and tactical radio support. A FLIR Star Safire 380HDC camera system, Shotover mapping suite, dual video displays, and a dedicated downlink system enable high-clarity surveillance and situational awareness. Additional enhancements include NVIS lighting, advanced searchlights, mini cams, and a robust airframe upgrade package—all engineered by Hangar One to meet the demands of urban law enforcement missions in our hometown of San Diego.
